Some of us remember the pain of being bullied at school. Bullying can range from name-calling and teasing to physical violence. Most children find themselves the victim of name-calling or teasing at some point, and this can be quite devastating.
Part of being a good parent is teaching your kids to be good people, and the best way to do this is be setting an example. When your kids see that you are doing the things that “good people” do, they will automatically catch on.
There are very few of us who aren’t feeling the effects of gas prices that are rising ever higher, higher food prices and higher prices on just about everything else. Pair these with a slowing economy and we’re all looking for ways to cut corners and save some money.
Even Supermoms get stressed out. Kids are very demanding of a mother’s time and energy resources, and while children should be a high priority to every mom, stress sometimes results, and too much stress is harmful both mentally and physically.
Everything in life, every decision you make, everything you do is a trade off. You get something and you give something. This is just the way life is. The decision to become a stay at home mom is easy for some, and difficult for others.
With the advent of email, instant messaging, cell phones, blackberries, etc., we’ve become accustomed to always being available to anyone and everyone at all times. In many ways this is great, but when it’s time for you to spend family time with your children, or time for you to spend time relaxing by yourself, being hooked up, tuned in and turned on can be a liability.
If you can find even a few minutes each day for peace and quiet, you can use them to relax and rejuvenate yourself. Depending on your tastes, you can find several ways to spend as little as ten minutes relaxing when the kids are napping or just before they wake in the morning.
Here we are in the 21st century. While parents rights have come a long way since our moms were young (and so were we), women still sometimes run into issues where blending their jobs with being a mom is concerned.
Stress is common to all of us. Unfortunately, everyone feels the effects of stress due to simply living in this fast-paced and challenging world. As a mother, stress sometimes comes from the thing that you feel should be the happiest and most fulfilling part of your life – your kids.
But the fact is that being a mom is sometimes stressful so don’t feel guilty about it. The stresses of motherhood come from the constant care that children require, caring for little ones when they are ill, and sleepless nights when your baby wants to play at 2 AM rather than rest.
